  1. HE 162 BOMBER INTERCEPT TRAINING

  3. The Volksjager (People's Fighter) was 
  4. designed to be built by unskilled laborers, 
  5. and was therefore constructed largely of 
  6. readily available materials, such as wood 
  7. and light-weight metals.  As such, it was 
  8. regarded as "a peice of consumer goods", 
  9. a disposable aircraft.  Few spare parts 
  10. were ever produced, because the 
  11. average combat life of the He 162 was 
  12. anticipated to be only 5 to 10 hours.

  14.                     YOUR MISSION
  15.  
  16. Your flight of four He 162s is positioned 
  17. behind a small formation of B-17 bombers 
  18. and their escorts.  Your two Bf 109 escorts 
  19. will handle the enemy escort fighters, as 
  20. you and and the other He 162 pilots attack 
  21. the bombers.  As you make your attack 
  22. runs, remember to keep your air speed 
  23. high to make your jet a harder target for 
  24. the B-17 gunners.
